Biography

Jorge Jimenez is the Spanish artist who has established himself as one of the most talented and sought-after creators in the contemporary comic book industry. Originally from Barcelona, he broke into DC Comics in the mid-2010s and quickly made a name for himself with his dynamic style, spectacular page compositions, and ability to combine intricate detail with clear storytelling. His early work on Earth 2: Society and Super Sons (2017, with Peter J. Tomasi) revealed an artist with an innate sense of movement and expression.

It was on Justice League (20182021), written by Scott Snyder, that Jimenez truly broke through. His work on the Totality and Justice/Doom War arcs produced pages of epic scope that redefined the visual standard of the title. Jimenez's double-page spreads — featuring dozens of characters interacting within breathtaking compositions — became his signature. Justice League #1 (2018), with its Jimenez cover, is a key issue collectors actively seek out.

In 2024, Jimenez embarked on what is arguably the most prestigious assignment of his career: Batman, alongside writer Chip Zdarsky. Their collaboration, launched with Batman #125, pairs Zdarsky's sharp writing with Jimenez's explosive artwork in what many consider the finest writer-artist pairing on the title in years. The run includes the Failsafe arc, which introduces a robotic nemesis created by Batman himself, and has produced images that immediately became iconic within the fan community.

For collectors, Jorge Jimenez is a blue-chip name. His covers consistently command higher prices than the alternatives, and his key issues appreciate steadily. Batman #125 — the debut of the Zdarsky collaboration — is a must-own. Super Sons #1 benefits from the growing popularity of Jon Kent and Damian Wayne. Jimenez represents the pinnacle of contemporary superhero art: an artist whose name alone on a book's credits is enough to make it a collectible.
