The universe of Storm: Forge, Callisto, T'Challa

The particularity of this universe is that it contains almost no personal adversary. Storm doesn't have her own gallery of enemies: those she faces belong to the team, the franchise, or Wakanda.

What it has of its own are relationships— people who change it. This is a rare configuration, and it explains why this character is better read over time than in an isolated confrontation.

Forge, and the invention that dispossesses it

Wrought is the inventor whose weapon robs Storm of her powers in 1984. The sequence that follows — their rapprochement, then the discovery of what he did — constitutes the best character material.

The device is excellent because it refuses the simple solution. Forge is not an adversary: ​​he does not know what his invention has produced, and he is the one who helps Storm survive what he did to her. The story therefore offers no clear target of anger.

Callisto and the Morlocks
