The origins: before the solo arcs

Two milestones lay the foundation before the first true Venom arc. Maximum Carnage is a 14-part crossover published in 1993 across the Spider-Man titles (source: Wikipedia). Spider-Man and Venom join forces against Carnage and his crew. The Venom vol. 4 (2018) relaunch by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman is the most acclaimed modern run.
